Welcome to Boojum Games
Boojum is a Boggle inspired word game with an ever-growing word list.
We seek to include as many valid words as possible, some of which may be viewed as offensive to some people, though this isn’t our intention here at Boojum.
We ask that people are understanding that not all words are pleasant to see, but they are valid words nonetheless & as such are a part of the game.
Colours Explained
As you join letters to form words, ‘pathways’ will appear to you in yellow, green or pink.
- Green signifies you have found a word.
- Yellow signifies there is still at least one word to be made from these letters.
- Pink signifies that there are no more words to be made using this string of letters.
The button is located below and left of the game board.
High Scores
The word game Boojum differs from classic Boggle by celebrating more than just the winner during a live game round. Boojum uses three types of leaderboards, per each game room, that celebrate the top positions for:
- Highest Scoring Round
- Highest Scoring Word
- Most Words Found
Our leaderboards are categorised by This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, This Year, Last Year and All Time. This ensures players can compete against each other even when playing alone.
Playmates
When you sign up for Boojum, you are given the option to add up to 10 other players to your Playmates list. Playmates enables you to see when your friends, or favourite opponents, were last active. It also gives you insight to their Activities feed, showing if they’ve posted to the forum or when their profiles have been updated.
Forum & Chat
A game should be a fun, friendly & relaxing pursuit, so if you’re a social butterfly, we encourage you to join the conversations here on our forum & in the live game chats.
When posting, please be respectful & try to be thoughtful, we don’t want anyone to feel unwelcome here at Boojum.
Whether you’re in the mood to discuss serious or silly matters, all we ask is that you’re mindful that there are real people on the receiving end of the send button.
Tournaments
Boojum now hosts exciting weekly Tournaments, giving everyone the chance to compete in a variety of styles.
We’re currently playing with new formats and ways to make this new addition to the site as much fun as possible.
Everybody is welcome to take part, whether a seasoned player or just looking for some enjoyment, our Tournaments offer a mix of competition and entertainment.
When one Tournament ends, registration soon opens for the next, lasting for several days. You must visit the Tournament page and press Register to ensure your spot.
Once the countdown ends and the Tournament begins, it's important to check back and keep an eye on your turn.
You can see the status of the Tournament, including when your Round is ready to be played, by clicking on ‘Tournament’ at the top of the screen or, for mobile users, clicking/tapping on your profile picture and using the drop down menu.
Each Round is available to play for 24 hours.
Boojum Boggle Tournaments are a great way to challenge yourself, have fun and stay connected to our friendly, ever-growing community.

Scoring
Letters are assigned a value:
- A, E, I, O, U, L, N, R, S, T = 1
- D, G = 2
- B, C, M, P = 3
- F, H, V, W, Y = 4
- K = 5
- J, X = 8
- Q, Z = 10
- 5 letter words are worth x2
- 6 letter words are worth x3
- 7 letter words are worth x4
- 8 letter words are worth x5
- 9+ letter words are worth x6
Using the Boojum tile in your word will double your word’s value.
Dashboard
In your Dashboard, you can easily modify your account settings, tweak your chat/site preferences & add up to 10 Playmates to stay informed of their Boojum Activities.
Preferences include the colour of your name throughout the site and whether your profanity filter is turned on or off for chat (note: it’s turned on by default).
Your Boojum Playmates’ Activities are shown in your Dashboard when you click or tap on “Playmates”.
Everyday Board
Everyday Boojum Boards offer a daily challenge, allowing you to compete against others when the mood strikes you.
Each day brings a new board, a non-live, timed game you can play at your own pace. Scores update throughout the day as more players take their turn.
You’re given the chance to revisit and play boards from the past ten days.

Timeless Boards
Timeless Boards offer a fun daily learning experience, on three different levels of difficulty.
- Curious – A cosy dictionary of familiar favourites.
- Curiouser – A broader trove, with trickier, less common words.
- Rabbit Hole – Vast and peculiar, bursting with the rare, the archaic and the downright obscure.
Each day brings a new board, a non-live, (almost) untimed game you can play at your own pace. You have 24 hours to submit your score and have the opportunity to do so once for each level.
Your progress throughout the day and night won’t be lost when you leave the page, so you can take breaks and come back to it whenever you have a spare moment.
Timeless Boards are a great way to learn new words and really challenge yourself - and your Playmates!
Mini Games
Enjoy a daily dose of mini-games, each with a different kind of challenge:
Boojumble is a spatial word puzzle where logic meets language.
You’re presented with three varying sized grids (Pocket, Humble and Jumbo), filled with jumbled letters.
Shuffle the letters about until every row and column forms a valid word, reading left to right and top to bottom.
Cluejums are a three-part mini word quest:
- Use up to 3 clues to guess the word.
- Match the word to its correct definition.
- Match the word to the correct synonym.
Doodledum gives you a random word to sketch, from your chosen difficulty level. Save your masterpiece and let everyone attempt to guess what it is!
