Boojum is the best boggle site

Having tried around 9 different places, (for me) Boojum is the best boggle (and word game) site.

A combination of the design, playability and extra features make it a place where I want to spend my time.

Sometimes I just look at it because it’s pretty.

I also find comfort in knowing you guys are there, seeing you did this or that in the activities feed or seeing you floating about the site. I feel sad when you go away.

Most of the other sites don’t work for me, at least not properly. They certainly don’t have all the extra features. There is an awful lot of pay to win stuff pushed on the app game versions.

They (sites and apps alike) feel cold and thoughtlessly made.

Or possibly made by/for psychopaths.

Also the people here are so much more pleasant (I’m referring to myself, obviously).

I’ve noticed Boojum also seems to attract neurodivergent people, which hints that it is a good choice in that respect. Thoughts on this?

The only issue I see is that Boojum doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.

What’s everyone else’s opinion on this whole subject?

I completely agree! There's just one thing that distinguishes me from most of you. I'm not a competetive person at all. I play for fun and only for fun. Maybe that's why I haven't made any obvious progress beyond a certain point. But that's fine with me. I still enjoy participating in the tournaments. And yes, like many others, I especially love the social aspect. You are all nice, very interesting, and funny. And I've learned so many new things (I'm just saying “horse feathers” ;-)

Oh, it is definitely.

1)The colors are inviting to me. I am not an earth tone person typically. Color makes me happy.

2) The dictionary is crazy huge.

3) People on this site are very interesting and friendly.

4) I don’t want to be negative or anything but Serpentine gives me a headache, boggle live has a limited dictionary, and well, why look at other sites? I would love more people to join. I am trying. I have so many friends that are honestly Luddites. What we need are some college kiddos. I need to work on them…

5) Alice is very thoughtful in the site set up, new additions, etc. Also very responsive to feedback.

🥰🥰🥰Boojum😍😍😍

PS: Who else has Pictionary? I mean seriously! So cool….

I actually struggle a lot with the board at bogglelive, it’s too small and fiddly for me (I have chubby fingers), far too bright and it constantly “drops” my words and sometimes doesn’t actually let me swipe at all. I dunno why, it used to be okay. The shaking feature really gets on my nerves, it wastes a lot of valuable word finding time.

I always struggled with that site though, it didn’t work at all (literally) when I first started trying to play there.

But definitely, I am used to Boojum now, so it just feels really flat at bogglelive (and everywhere actually) now. Used to love it there, think because it was the only site that didn’t have a bright white background. I really can’t deal with white screens. I dunno why a lot of these game sites do that.

Some things are a matter of personal taste I guess. For me, Boojum is - hands down - the most user friendly interface.

What is this cursor issue Sys? I’ve never heard you or anyone else mention this before in 9 months, has it always happened?

On Bogglelive there are messages popping up in the middle of the board everytime you get a word and the board becomes unplayable for 3 seconds after you get an 8+ letter word. It also doesn't show your current word, which is incredibly annoying if you are a typer.

The User interface on Serpentine is horrific and I can't even be bothered to list all of the reasons.

I had a look at Worldwinner, but I cant see much without signing up, however the style looks like those horrible soulless sites that I dislike.

I think when people spend a long time on a site, they get used to whatever quirks that site has, - hence not really noticing the annoying “features” on Bogglelive and Serpentine and taking issue with anything that differs from what they’ve become accustomed to. I’m used to this site now, so everything else feels dull.

It’s amusing what you say about Goob - I remember in the early days of Boojum, someone else joining from the other site and complaining that it was too “happy” looking…and so they didn’t like it. I think about that sometimes. It was one of the funniest and saddest complaints I’ve seen.

What do you mean about the cursor? Should probably tell Alice about that.

I agree that Boojum is the best on the social angle. We have a lot of fun together. I still like the board design at Bogglelive the best. I struggle with the boards here because the cursor jumps around and selects stuff I don't want it to select. The other sites don't do that. Talking to booger/goober one time he said he struggled with the board layout as well, something about all the colors throwing him off and not being able to play as well.

I've been playing a few games at Worldwinner today and those boards are fairly user friendly. But they go by really fast, and you don't get to look over the words you found, or compare them to your opponent's. There is also no social aspect to it, that I can see. I am also wary of the pay to play aspect in that it makes it essentially a gambling site.

This website certainly attracts the “extraterrestrial” types, yes. I wholeheartedly agree ;)

I haven’t been to too many places, so I can’t judge as well, but I agree!
