What ya watching? Was/is it good?

We can use the Alienzen Review Chart, if you like…

As some of you know, Alien has a ranking system and I usually use it to figure out how good a film or series is. It goes:

  • Ok
  • Alright
  • Fine

On rare occasions you get “I liked it” or “that wasn’t as bad as I thought it was gonna be”.

Sidenote: yes you have to spell them like that (wrong), even though it’s painful.

Oooh that looks fun, loads of good people in it. How do I never know about any of these programmes.

The Studio is excellent.

Meanwhile I am watching the 2nd season. The Book of Carol. It's funny, since I got my pixie cut I look a bit like Carol. They also speak French a lot. I'm surprised that I'm still able to understand some of it after not using it for 36 years. So, my Chicken Tikka Masala has been delivered. I'll be busy with it from now on.....

Limequat wrote:

Oooh. Sounds great - I’ll see if it’s still on the streaming thingy I have.

I stopped watching the series for the same reason. But Daryls story is worth watching. Lot's of high-profile french actors. And a ...more french atmosphere. And the landsscape - so beautiful. You'll love it, Lime.

Limequat wrote:

I’ve been wanting to watch that, I didn’t finish The Walking Dead though - because I was annoyed by the characters being drippy. I love Daryl. Might have to try it out.

I am watching one of the sequels of The Walking Dead. Daryl Dixon made it to France. I always liked his charakter in the original series. This sequel is really good.

Yellow Jackets was a bit depressing though. Sense of dread.

Year of the Rabbit. Rolling on the rug funny….

domino wrote:

I very much love Silo and See. Going to try Yellow Jackets. Totally missed that one.

Sasa wrote:

Thumbs Up for Yellow Jackets, pretty much, Juliette Lewis is amazing in general. Also The Following is interesting, but maybe a little too long. I do love me a Kevin Bacon, boy has he progressed from FootLoose.

Don't watch tv. I occasionally binge a series on britbox, Amazon or hallmark. Bosch legacy was the last series I watched. And I recently watched both the Accountant movies. I guess that makes me pretty boring.

Sasa wrote:

I adored Better Things, but I am the target audience.

Sasa wrote:

Stick is ridiculously predictable, but a delicious Marc Maron plays himself. He steals the show…

Sasa wrote:

Very sad that the Ambassadors only had three episodes. Loved it. The credits are banging as well.

Limequat wrote:

I thought they’d be elegant but super blunt. I’ll have to try it out.

Sasa wrote:

I think the South African’s are surprisingly elegant and not as bonkers, was VERY surprised….

Limequat wrote:

So, I forgot to respond on the notice board thing Sasa - Uk version of Wife Swap…and it is horrendous. Haven’t tried the South African one yet but I bet they’re all super rude to each other but nobody notices because they’re South African.

Accurate?
